SEASON EVENTS!!!
RAMBLERS CAPTURE THIRD STRAIGHT D-10 CROWN
The golf team captured it's third straight District 10 championship at the Riverside golf course by defeating Sharpsville, 766-773.
The team was led by Senior Scott Moore, who shot a 79-72-151, good for 7th place. Also contributing to the victory were Sonny Kupniewski (152), Pat Kloecker (153), John Calabrese (154), Andy Glover (160), and Rob Hersch (MC).
KLOECKER LEADS RAMBLERS IN FRANKLIN INVITAIONAL VICTORY
Pat Kloecker continues to have a great carreer as a Prep golfer, firing a 73 to capture the individual medalist honors in the Franklin Invitational, held at the wet and soggy Wanango Country Club. With Kloecker's win, a Rambler has won the individual medalist title for the last three years. Sonny Kupniewski (2002) and Ryan Stadler (2001) were the other winners.
The team also captured it's second straight tournament this year, easily outdistancing second place Warren by 7 strokes.
Sonny Kupniewski and Jon Heintz contributed to the victory with 81's.
RAMBLERS CAPTURE METRO TITLE
The golf team wrapped up it's second straight Metro League Title by defeating McDowell 33.5-26.5 at the Millcreek Golf Course.
Playing on the Trojans home course, the Ramblers were lead by senior co-captain Pat Kloecker, who fired a one-under-par 34. Scott Moore, playing in the final match also came up big, shooting an even-par 35 to win his match 7-3. Sonny Kupniewski continued his torrid pace, shooting a 36.
KUPNIEWSKI LEADS RAMBLERS PAST McDOWELL
Co-Captain Sonny Kupniewski fired a one-under-par 35 to dominate in his match to lead the team to victory in it's first of two matches against rival McDowell, 38-22. The rest of the team also dominated play that day, winning all but one of the 6 matches. The other match was a tie.
Word of Kupniewski's big lead filtered throughout the course, pumping up his teammates to win as well. All of Prep's rounds were in the 30's. Pat Kloecker(37), Andy Glover(38), Alex Keim(38) and John Calabrese(39) all contributed to help the team to a 6-0 and taking a lead in the Mythical Metro League.
The team also had two other victories in the week, defeating Villa and Central to indentical 40.5-19.5 scores, upping it's record to 8-0.
Pat Kloecker and John Calabrese both fired even-par 36's in the Central match. Phil Dunn contributed with a solid 37.
RAMBLERS WIN 4th MERCYHURST PREP INVITATIONAL
The golf team won it's fourth Mercyhurst Prep Invitational, in as many tries, by outdistancing several good area schools, shooting a team total of 305. The tournament was held at the team's home course, the Downing Golf Course.
The team was led by a pair 75's fired by Senior Pat Kloecker and Junior Rob Hersch, who tied for fourth place individually. Also contributing were Andy Glover (77), John Calabrese (78), and Sonny Kupniewski (80).
The overall individual winner of the tournament was McDowell's Kevin Grignol, who shot an even par 72. McDowell (311) was the second place team. Host school Mercyhurst Prep (312) was third.
RAMBLERS PLACE 13TH AT McDONALDS TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
The golf team couldn't overcome a very difficult golf course, placing 13th out of 15 teams in the 3rd Annual McDonald's Tournament of Champions held this past Sunday and Monday in Kingsport, Tennessee. The Ramblers posted a 319-334-653.
The tournament was very competitive, with State Champion teams from the eastern United States. Baylor H.S., from Chattanooga, Tennessee, upset defending champions St. Xavier H.S., from Lousville, Ky., for their first McDonald's Championship. St. Xavier had not lost a high school tournament in five years.
Baylor was led by the tournament's individual champion, Seth Brandon, who fired a 72-68-140. Jonathan Hodge, from Jefferson County H.S. in Dandridge ,TN, was second with 69-72.
Leading the Ramblers was Senior Co-Captain Sonny Kupniewski, who shot rounds of 76-84-160, to end up in a tie for 38th. Rob Hersch was the next best with 80-81-161, which tied him for 43rd.
The team was once again the guests of host families from the Ridgefields Country Club. Jerry & Margaret Dahill and Carl & Pat Cox graciously provided their homes for the boys. Their hospitality was greatly appreciated and continues to be one of the highlights of the trip.
RAMBLERS PLACE 3rd AT ROUGH RIDER INVITATIONAL
The golf team placed third in the 28th Richard Pfeiffer Tri-State Invitational, held in Kent, Ohio. The team shot a 320-311-631. The winning team was perennial Ohio power, Hudson High School, who shot 312-303-615.
The individual winner was Hudson freshman John Hahn, who shot 76-72-148. Pacing the Ramblers was two-time defending champion Pat Kloecker (79-77-156) who ended tied for 6th. John Calabrese (81-76-157, t-9th), Sonny Kupniewski (83-77-160, t-14th), Rob Hersch (79-81-160, t14th) and Scott Moore (81-85-166, t-28th) also competed.
CALABRESE, FARABAUGH WIN PREP JUNIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT
Prep Junior, John Calabrese won the 15-and-over division and Colin Farabaugh the 12-14 division Thursday at the Cathedral Prep Junior Golf Tournament at Downing Golf Course.
Calabrese shot a 2-under 70, in an all-day rain, to win the event in a seven-hole playoff with McDowell's Kevin Grignol. Prep Junior Robbie Hersch took 3rd Place with a 74.
Farabaugh, who shot an 83, won his division in a three-way playoff on the fourth hole. Matt Barnes placed second and Gary Kaminski was third.

WEEK #8
SCOTT MOORE
Scott continue to surprise people with his play this year, by being the low Rambler in the District 10 tournament. His 7th place finish (79-72-151) was one stroke off the last qualifying spot for the PIAA State Tournament.
WEEK #7
SONNY KUPNIEWSKI
Sonny completed a successful week by shooting a 38 to defeat his opponent in the season ending win over Mercyhurst Prep. The Rambler victory enabled them to maintain a perfect, undefeated record in the independent race, at 10-0.
Sonny also captured the overall lead in average, 1.0 over par, for the independent teams, formerly known as the Metro League. Earlier in the week, Sonny was one of six Ramblers to advance through the local qualifier for a spot in the District 10 tournament.
WEEK #6
PAT KLOECKER
Pat completed an impressive week by winning the Franklin Invitational's Medalist honors by firing a 73 at the difficult, soggy Wanango Country Club. This is Pat's third straight year in which he has won a high school tournament.
The day before this win, Pat lead the team to it's second straight Metro League title, shooting a one-under-par 34 at the Millcreek Golf Course.
WEEK #5
SONNY KUPNIEWSKI
Sonny continues to have a great season, evidenced by the earning of his third player-of-the-week honor. Sonny may have set the tone for the rest of the year by defeating McDowell's #1 player, Mike McNamara, by a dominating score of 8-2. He did this by firing a one-under-par 35 at Downing. Two days later, Sonny fired a 37 against a pesky Central team, out of the #1 spot in the lineup.
WEEK #4
ROB HERSCH & PAT KLOECKER
Both Rob and Pat shot 3-over-par 75's to lead the Ramblers to their first tournament victory of the year in the Mercyhurst Prep Invitaional at Downing Golf Course. The team continued to dominate the event by winning every year they have entered the tournament. They are 4 for 4.

PAT KLOECKER & SONNY KUNPNIEWSKI
Pat led the Ramblers in the 28th Annual Richard Pfeiffer Tri-State Invitational, held in Kent, Ohio. The team ended up in 3rd Place overall. Pat fired rounds of 79-77-156 to end in a tie for 6th Place. Pat was the two-time defending champion of the tournament.
Sonny led the team in the 3rd Annual McDonald's Tournament of Champions, held in Kingsport, Tennessee, with rounds of 76-84-160, for a finish in a tie for 38th.
WEEK #2
ROB HERSCH
Rob earned player-of-the-week honors by leading the team in both of the teams first two inviational tournaments. In the first tournament, the Neohiogolf.com/St.Ingatius Invitational, Rob fired a 75 to end up in a tie for 5th place. The tournament had a very strong field of Ohio's best golf teams. The second tournament was the Warren Invitational. Rob shot a team low 78, to tie for 10th overall.

SONNY KUPNIEWSKI
Sonny started off the year strongly by leading all players with the low 3-day total score, during the 2003 Prep Golf Tryouts. Sonny had rounds of 83-74-72. Phil Dunn was the next closest with rounds of 78-75-80.
